If you have a line in your file and it still isn’t sending the call to voicemail, I suggest you contact Skype. It will probably take a couple of tries. Usually when I say “no, really, I already tried that” to the first, cut-and-pasted reply, someone will go back and actually read my request and offer something useful.

If you get an answer, please come back and post it for others to find.

Ditto 100% with Will (above), exact same thing.
and also on a Mac OSX 10.4.11
Here is the modified code. Changed to >10< the existing long numbers that was in place.
still not sending to voicemail.
so any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, Will. Post the version number of Skype and your config file. Maybe we can figure it out.

Thank you so much for addressing these bizarre problems with Skype. Unfortunately even changing the config file for my username hasn’t fixed the problem with calls that ring and ring and never go to voicemail. Any advice?

I’m on a Mac, OSX 10.4.11 using the latest version of Skype (as of 6/17/2010).

Had this error come up when upgrading from 1.3.5 to 1.3.6. Your suggestion worked like a charm.

I agree… Time in the industry has shown me that ‘proper’ development is subject to budgets and timelines… Even in architecture we see the outsourcing of drawings and quality decline but there is the overall ‘sign-off’ from the architect that ensures that the plans are sound. Perhaps a less maverick way of programming, developing and planning across the board would help… (Though, in the heart of every programmer is a bit of a rebel I think.) Definitely something to think about. Especially on the grander scale of what it would mean as our lives become more and more dependent on software…I would says ‘technology’ but at the core is so much software.

There isn’t a gem called “rubygems”. Double check the instructions in the post and make sure you aren’t running “gem update rubygems” or similar.

I keep getting an error that “rubygems is not found locally or in a repository”. Any ideas?
